Trips and Anniversary
So, we are MOVED! Goodbye, Lovell. I will say that I am so grateful for all the wonderful nice people we were able to spend our summer with, but I'm glad to be back in Utah. Things are a little crazy right now because we aren't all moved in and it's a disaster here. But we'll make it work. We finally got Liam's crib all set up. Poor little guy has been sleeping in either a tent or pack n play for a couple weeks. Ah.
So Devin and I packed up and cleaned all of our stuff from our Wyoming apartment. We rented a UHAUL and went to Yellowstone to meet Devin's family on Friday August 12th. Liam cried for a good thirty minutes. Other than that it was okay.
Yellowstone was a lot of fun. The whole family was there (minus Jessica...it would have been perfect if she could have come). While we were there we went to the mud pots, Old Faithful, a beautiful waterfall hike, and visitors centers. I still didn't see a bear, which i'm pretty upset about. We were able to play with the family, go swimming in the river right behind our campsite (almost getting carried away in the current!!). All in all it was a really fun time. BUT I don't ever want to go camping with a baby again. Liam wasn't so bad, but he wanted to get down and crawl around but he couldn't because he would eat dirt, get sticks stuck in him, etc. So Kayla and I thought it would be a good idea to take the babies home Sunday night and let them sleep in the car. Ha ha, bad idea. One would start crying and wake the other one up, it was pretty much a vicious cycle. Needless to say, the babies had a rough night and we got home at 3am. Happy Anniversary to me :)Here are some pictures from Yellowstone. I couldn't find my camera for a long time so I didn't get very many pictures. Most of them are around our little campsite.
Ryan holding the babies
Liam passed out on his stroller
Michaela, Tacy, and Liam chilling by the fire.
Cooking dinner.
Kayla and Mavrick.
Liam in his warm gear. It was FREEZING at night and in the morning.
Daddy and baby. Notice the UHAUL in the back. It turned into a community-use storage.
Devin and the babies. Liam kept pulling Mavrick's hair. Poor guy.
Michaela on baby duty.
Family in tie-dye shirts..
Old Faithful. It was bigger than the last time I saw it!!
Devin and I were able to celebrate our 2 year anniversary on Monday August 15th. Yay! Two years. I can't believe how fast time goes. I love my little family so much. And i'm so grateful for the best husband. We went out to chili's and ate too much dinner and a chocolate molten cake. YUM. Then we went to the movie theater. Devin wanted to see captain america, but at the last minute he decided he would love me and watch the help. GREAT movie. If you have ever read the book it is just like it and perfect!! I thought the characters were fabulous. It was really nice to get out for a while just the two of us. We had gone to the temple a couple times, but other than that we never went on a date without Liam! Hopefully we'll be able to schedule in a date night now that we are living with the in-laws. I think i'm going to pay my sister in-law to watch him once a week. He loves Corinn.
Then we spent the rest of the week hanging out with Ryan and Kayla and Mavrick and Devin's family. Oh and some friends we haven't seen in AGES. We also had a crazy night of Rook with Devin's uncle Alan. Kayla and I were the ultimate winners.
Here is a cute picture from the family picnic
Mavrick having some watermelon.
Liam and Tommy. Tommy is 2 months younger than Liam! He is so big and adorable!!
Mavrick and his crazy hair.
Happy with a ball.
Mav was just chilling in the grass. It was so cute.
On Saturday I helped to a baby shower for my friend Richelle. I think it turned out good. She got a petunia pickle bottom diaper bag, and i am so jealous. i'm probably going to make Devin buy one for me now!! :)
As I am writing this my husband and father in-law are moving refrigerators up and down the stairs. Someone is going to end up with a broken back. But, at least we will have a fridge!
This week will consist of cleaning Devin's parents garage and organizing our new home! Oh, and crafts. Did I mention crafts? :) The end for now!

What more could I have done for my vineyard?
Since all of the posts are about Liam, I figured I would write one about me (devin).
One of the only hobbies I've had this summer is gardening. I'm not talking about a big scale agriculture or anything. Just a small quaint garden. Consisting of one beefsteak tomato plant. I've put all that I am into it. I cleared a patch of land in the flower bed where I then deposited 15 tomato seeds. They all did so well, but there could only be one. I slowly began to prune the weaker specimens until only the brute was left.
Throughout the past two months I have been weeding, and watering, and nurturing this champion tomato. Below is a picture of it at its climax:
A question many people have asked is why bad things happen to good people. I myself have been asking this. Shortly after this picture was taken, my tomato took a turn for the worst. I couldn't understand it. What more could I have done for my tomato? Overnight it had wilted. Over the next three days it was completely dead. I launched a thorough investigation of the tragedy. Turns out it was a homicide. Although the tomato was the first to go, shortly after many weeds surrounding it began to wilt. As well as the grass along the sidewalk turned brown. The inconsiderate and ignorant yard-boy had mistaken my tomato for an enormous and beautiful weed. And turned it into this:
Better luck next year I guess. P.S. Take a look at the flower before and after. I was britt's from relief society that had died and I water and planted and it came back to life.

8 months!!
William is 8 months old. !!!! Pretty soon he's going to be shaving his face. Okay, fine. We still have a while before we get there...
Just a few things about Liam at 8 months old..
- He is crawling everywhere, but wanting to be walking.
-He pulls himself up using anything he can (walls, carseat, mom, dad, couch, laundry basket, etc..) And attempts to walk along it if he can.
- One of his favorite things to do is while he is standing to let go-throwing his hands in the air, and see how long he can go without holding on. He get's SO excited. It's adorable. Devin and I are working with him to see how long he can stand on his own. He's even tried taking a few steps when we do this. (Obviously he can't really stand on his own for very long without falling over..) But he's really good at getting down from the couch now and not falling backwards onto his head.
- Liam hates going down for naps and bedtime...which makes life hard sometimes. Ha ha, he will normally stand up in his crib and shake it (the crib bangs against the wall and makes a loud noise..probably to get our attention.) He does this while standing in the corner closest to the door so he can see us come in. Then, he gets a HUGE smile on his face and sometimes laughs when we come in to lay him back down. Ah, he is adorable.
-He sleeps anywhere from 9-12 hours a night. YAY!. --Except for the last couple of nights, he has been waking up every couple hours. Little man has some top teeth that are SO CLOSE to coming in..
- Enjoys oatmeal baby cereal mixed with fruits for breakfast. He eats carrots, green beans, squash, and sweet potatoes mostly for lunch and dinner. But we are also giving him finger foods now which is fun. He loves cheerios and is getting really good at putting them in his mouth. At first he would try to put his whole fist in his mouth and normally not even get the cheerio. :) He will also just have some of mine and Devin's food (depending on what it is...). He hates peas. Dang it.
-Likes to attack me and Devin when we go and play with him on the ground. I normally just lay down on a pillow and he comes and butts heads with me. Devin actually tries ramming him in the head, but don't worry. Liam puts up a good fight (pulls dad's hair, scratches him, head butts him back...it's great).
-I'm pretty sure he's giving me kisses. Open mouth, adorable kisses. But Devin doesn't think that's what he's doing. I say yes. He loves me.
-Can go from crawling to sitting on his bum.
-He always wants to know where I am. He comes looking for me. I love hearing his fast crawl across the floor.
-It's crazy that he knows already what he's not supposed to be doing. One of my favorite things lately is how hard he tries to get into my 'craft room.' I keep the door shut because i don't want him to destroy it or get hurt (there are sewing pins all over the floor). Anyway, sometimes I have to go in there and get something and he immediately stops what he is doing and tries super hard to crawl over fast enough to get inside. Sometimes he makes it, but when he doesn't he will stand up and bang on the door. Ha ha. Love him.
Here are some photos of Liam during the past month of his life. (Sorry about the mess in EVERY picture. lol.)
Sometimes when he gets crabby we go for walks.
Crawling on the sidewalk. Ouch.
He doesn't like to take a bottle very much, he'd rather play. So dad lets him sit up.
Playing with some dirt.
Standing up like a big boy on the couch.
Just playing with whatever he can find.
On the go. Always.
He loves these buckles in his high chair. Look how cute that belly is!
Here he is with socks (his own, and they are clean) in his mouth. He's been doing this for a few days now. His teeth are really driving him crazy. Anyway, he is also holding his hands up to see how long he can stand!
So precious.
Today, at 8 months.
Fighting with dad.
Sorry for the picture overload. Enjoy!!
